Practical Life

Practical Life

The child learns to do day to day activities such as pouring a glass of water, cleaning, sweeping,  or tying a shoelace. This helps the child feel independent and capable of completing simple activities to take care of self and the environment without relying on adults. Also to develop gross motor control and eye-hand coordination.

Sensorial Activities

Sensorial Activities

Each of the five senses is refined individually. The differences between dimensions, colours, textures, pitch, etc are experienced upon encouraging appreciation for these senses in the children by performing activities with the Montessori Material.

Language

Language

Reading and conversation are a significant aspect of the Montessori system. The natural progression of written expression and reading is encouraged by enforcing the link between sound and symbol – children effortlessly identify the sound while tracing
sandpaper letters with their fingers. Through the 3 year of Montessori program, the child would fall in love with the art and pleasure of reading and writing.

Arithmetic

Arithmetic

Arithmetic is an integral part of the human environment from the early stage.  Arithmetic in Montessori environment is offered to interconnect between shape, space and size, for  quantitative reasoning, numerical representation and relationships, sub-groups of arithmetic, geometry, fraction are introduced with the Montessori material to the child

Cultural Studies

Cultural Studies

Geography, botany, zoology, art, and music are presented as extensions of learning activities, and are integrated into the child’s environment. Children learn about people and cultures from all over the world with an attitude of respect and admiration

"We are all here to help you"
Mrs. Sunitha’s Montessori story started with the hunt for Infancy Education for her own baby, back in 1998, when she came across the book “The Absorbent Mind” by Maria Montessori. Intrigued by the insights provided into the mind of a child, a group of her friends and she began searching for training in the Montessori Method. Although difficult to find a legitimate source back in the day, they finally found a chapter of the Indian Montessori Centre in Malleswaram, and began their training there.
